Cold extraction and sterilization

AlgoSource works exclusively from biomass packed in bags and stored by freezing immediately after harvest. This step allows the biomass to retain all of its freshness and all of its active properties.

During the extraction process, alternating precise and rigorous steps of lysis, centrifugation and membrane filtration, no heating or drying step is used, a rise in temperature irreparably altering the molecules of interest of the microalgae.

This exclusive extraction technique allows the extracts produced by AlgoSource to sublimate all the natural bioactive functional power of microalgae, naturally and without additional elements.

In the same spirit of preserving the richness of these extracts, AlgoSource has complemented its expertise with an exceptional mastery of cold-sterilization techniques, i.e., by eliminating, once again, any stage of temperature rise to guarantee the intrinsic qualities of the extract until the final product.

At the end of this demanding extraction process, the result is a liquid product, pure and highly concentrated in active ingredients, which distinguishes it, by the power of its bioactive activity, from dry, pasteurized forms or those mixed with other components (glycerol, alcohol,…) which structurally affect the functional properties of microalgae.

All of the extracts produced by AlgoSource undergo double bacteriological and physical-chemical controls performed, on one hand, within its internal analysis laboratory and, on the other hand, by an independent external laboratory. No product may be commercialized, regardless of its form, without first obtaining a green light from these two control laboratories.

Thanks to this expertise and a continuous requirement of quality and respect of its products, AlgoSource benefits from ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification issued by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). Its extracts, 100% natural, have also earned the Sport Protect label which guarantees that they can be used by those in training, in respect of international anti-doping measures.
