A strong environmental and socially-responsible policy
The AlgoSource Group plays an active role in the sustainable development of society and the environment through its activities and its founding mission to drive innovation.
The AlgoSource Group clearly believes that microalgae cultivation and applications must address the issues facing tomorrow’s world, including:
- Growing energy demand.
- Depletion of fossil fuels.
- Fight against the greenhouse effect.
- Increasing food demand and growing pressure on agricultural land.
The cultivation and development of microalgae can therefore help rein in these issues by replacing fossil carbon with renewable energy sources and renewable carbon, meaning biomass (plants and animal waste).
When producing microalgae, AlgoSource uses the CO2, heat and even the water generated by other industrial activities as part of a true industrial ecology strategy.
Daily socially-responsible practices and community-oriented projects
With its many socially-responsible and community-oriented initiatives, the AlgoSource Group is firmly committed to promoting sustainable development. Our Group is a voluntary partner to the Paniers de la Mer National Federation in implementing the UNI-VERT project, which aims to cultivate spirulina for food aid in France as part of a model that fosters social and work inclusion. Furthermore, recycling is central to our everyday activities, and we consistently prioritise local socially-responsible partners (for example, AlgoSource uses Papiers de l’Espoir, a Loire-Atlantique-based humanitarian association, to sort its waste paper).
